Dexter got 11 kills from Jessica Lindsey and the team delivered nine aces from the service line as the Lady 'Cats dominated the Lady Tigers at the Bearcat Event Center.
"I feel we are playing to the level of our competition," Morgan said after the win. "And we can't have that."
Dexter stormed out to a quick 10-4 advantage in Game 1 and later used a 10-0 run with Shyann Jines at the service line to make it a 21-7 game.
Dexter closed out the opener, then was back at it early in Game 2. The Lady 'Cats opened with a 6-0 run before Katie Williams' kill off a block put the Lady Tigers on the board.
A kill by Lindsey on the next point sent Brittany Harris to the service line and the Lady 'Cats reeled off seven straight points to surge ahead, 13-1.
After a Cape time-out, Dexter set Lindsey once again and the sophomore delivered again to make it 14-1. Lindsey did most of her damage on the night hitting from the outside and going cross court.
Cape rallied behind the inspired play of Williams for three-straight points, but a 7-0 Dexter run made it a 21-4 game and left little doubt about the outcome.
"You would think I would be happy with the way we played, but I'm not," Morgan said. "And I'm not taking anything away from Cape. But you know what, we played slow. We'll get back in the gym tomorrow and take care of a few things."
Dexter improved to 6-2 on the season.
