Quincy Hoggard son of the late Robert Jeffrey Hoggard and Rena Porter Hoggard was born in Portageville, Mo., on Oct. 9,1923, and died at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Sept. 27, 2012, at the age of 88.

Mr. Hoggard had worked for Liberty Township He had farmed and haddriven a school bus for Bernie Public Schools. He was a member of the Bernie Corner Gospel Fellowship and a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Doris Esterline in Piggott, Ark., on May 13, 1949. Survivors include, His wife, Doris Hoggard of Bernie; two sons, Dennis R. Hoggard of Dexter and Kerry D. Hoggard of Fruitland; three daughters, Karla Gallamore of Fort Smith, Ark., Marilyn Tiefenbrun of Afton, Mo., and Leah Beth King of Dexter; one brother, Russell Hoggard of Portageville; four sisters, Virginia LaFerney, Geneva Patton, Collean Mansfield all of Portageville and Caroly Fisher of North Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one brother, Coy Hoggard.

Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, Oct.1, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Wells and Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
