Mr. Darcy was a native of Staten Island, NY; a graduate of Sheffield High School, Sheffield, Ala., and the Univer-sity of North Alabama. He was a restaurateur in Murray, Ky., and Dexter Mo. He was also the Food and Beverage Director with the Alabama State Park System at the Lake Guntersville Lodge. He served on the Tennessee Valley Historical Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy Kennedy Darcy of Sheffield; his son, Richard T. Darcy IV of Burke, Va.; daughters, Ann Darcy Hooker and husband Jim of Melbourne, Fla., and Carole Elizabeth Darcy Miller and husband Bill of Centerville, Md.; a sister, Carole Darcy of Memphis, Tenn., eight grandchildren, Derek Winn, Paul Pandolf, Erin Darcy, Jack Darcy, Joseph Darcy, Darcy Miller, Dylan Miller and Jacob Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beatrice Cairns Darcy.
Visitation will take place on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church in Tuscumbia, Ala.
A memorial mass will follow with Father Don Forsythe officiating.
