He was born in Lilbourn, Mo., on Sept. 19, 1925, a son of the late John and Geneva (Ward) Masch-meyer. On March 26, 1943, in Piggott, Ark., he was married to Vonda Marlene (Bollinger) Maschmeyer, who preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2005.
Richard enjoyed spending his time with family. His other interests were hunting, fishing and rebuilding automobiles.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Hart, and her husband Gordon, of Eldon; a son, Kevin Maschmeyer, also of Eldon; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Marlene Sandlin and Donna Presta; a son, Gaylon Maschmeyer; two brothers, Tom and Merle Maschmeyer; and one sister, Myrtle Camp, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. -- 12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, with services at 12 p.m. at Calvary Cornerstone in Advance, Mo., and Rev. John Tolbert officiating. Interment will be in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
