Rosa Allen, daughter of the late John Elect and Minnie Ola Rootz Shelton, was born in Malden, Mo., on May 12, 1922, and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo., on Nov. 5, 2012, at the age of 90.
She had moved to the Aid community in 1959, where she lived until moving into an area nursing home. She was of the Protestant faith.
On Oct. 17, 1957, she was married to Floyd Allen. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas W. Morrison of Zalma, Mo., and James E. Morrison of Arnold, Mo.; one step-son, Kenny Allen of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Russell Shelton of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and David Shelton of Dexter, Mo. Other family and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Everett, Bill, Wesley, Ralph, Howard, John, Charlie and Homer Shelton; and four sisters, Sallie Hampton, Agnes Blake, Ruby Kitrell and Mable Snider.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dale Holman of Advance, Mo., officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
