Dexter's Young signs with UT Martin

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Pictured for the official signing are (front row, from left) Marty Young (father), Chase Young, Chandler Young (brother) and Christine Young (mother), (back row) Dexter baseball coach Brian Becker, Dexter football coach Aaron Pixley and Dexter athletic director Derek Urhahn. The UT Martin Skyhawks are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
Dexter's outstanding all-around athlete Chase Young Wednesday inked a National Letter of Intent of play baseball for the University of Tennessee in Martin during ceremonies at the Bearcat Event Center. Young has been a three-sport athlete at Dexter, recently being named the Most Valuable Player in football, while also excelling at basketball and baseball. Young said it felt good to get the signing process out of the way so he can concentrate on his senior seasons in basketball and baseball. The 5'10, 168-pound speedster is currently recovering from a broken fibula in his leg, but is expected back on the basketball court somewhere around Christmas.

Young gives an interview after the signing.
