DHS Band students soar at Annual All District auditions

Eighteen members of Dexter's High School Concert and Jazz Bands earned the honor of playing in the All District Bands' performance Saturday, Nov. 17 in Jackson. Band members auditioned last weekend at Jackson High School. Achieving All District Band honors are (front row, left to right) Kerrigan Brady-11th Chair Flute, Chandler Crowley-10th Chair Clarinet, Michaela Lesley-12th Chair Clarinet, Erin Lauters-19th Chair Clarinet, Lacy Midgett-1st Chair Contra Alto Clarinet, Joseph Greer-2nd Chair Alto Sax, Linda Love-5th Chair French Horn, Hannah Huls-5th Chair Trumpet, and Gina Magarian-6th Chair Trumpet. In the back row are Alex Rybolt-3rd Chair Trombone, Brooks Propst-9th Chair Trombone, Chuy Lara-2nd Chair Euphonium, Nathan Elliot-2nd Chair Tuba, and John Durham-4th Chair Perc. Opt. 1. Pictured next are Jazz Band members who made All District Jazz Band. They are R.J. Phillips-1st Alternate Tenor Sax, Kendra Stevenson-1st Alt. Trombone, Addison Moore-2nd Chair Drums, and Tyler Stevenson-Alternate Vibes. Also earning a place on the All District Jazz Band were (previously named) Alex Rybolt-Lead Trombone and 1st Alt. Bass Trombone, Chuy Lara-Bass Trombone, Hanna Huls-Lead Trumpet, Gina Magarian-2nd Trumpet, Linda Love-3rd Trumpet, Joseph Greer-Piano, Nathan Elliot-Bass Guitar, and John Durham-1st Chair Drums. The public is invited to hear the All District Bands play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Jackson High School. The bands are under the direction of Scott Rybolt and Jim Wade.
