Rachel Jeneane Porter of Farmington died Friday Nov. 23, 2012, at the Southbrook Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 74. She was born June 24, 1938, in Bragg City, Mo., daughter of the late Edith (Bohmer) and Marlin O. Martin, Sr.

Jeneane was an active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington and formerly a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Viburnum. She was a school teacher and worked for many years in the Viburnum Public Schools as a librarian. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a former and founding member of the Viburnum Booster Club, and a past member of the Eastern Star. She was well liked by her students, friends, and neighbors and will be remembered as being passionate about teaching and, in particular, reading.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her husband, Tom Porter, Sr. of Farmington; four sons Tom Porter, Jr. of Farmington, Terry Porter and wife Kristi of Paducah, Ky., Todd Porter and wife Michele of Williamsville, and Timmeray Porter and wife Donna of Farmington; two sisters, Katherine Sisk and husband Charles of St. Louis, and Dean Wright of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, Marlin O. Martin, Jr., and wife Alice of Bernie; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, Nov. 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumed Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Scott Hall officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The family requests that memorials may be made to the

St. Francois County Community Partnership.
