Lawrence Duley, son of the late Archie Duley and Lucinda Blevins Duley, was born on April 27, 1927, at Risco and died at The Manor in Poplar Bluff on Dec. 9, 2012, at the age of 85.

Mr. Duley attended the Midland Church at Poplar Bluff, was a retired carpenter, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a former resident of Dexter currently residing in Poplar Bluff.

He was united in marriage to Marian Loper on Jan. 22, 1945, at Dexter. Mrs. Duley survives of the home in Poplar Bluff.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Daniel Duley of Owosso, Mich., Martin Duley of Poplar Bluff, and David Duley of Dexter; one daughter, Yvonne Hutchison, of Mt. Rose, Mich.; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Duley, Merrell Duley, Melvin Duley, and Leo Duley; three sisters, Genevie Bullock, Gwendolyn Duley, and Nathelene Duffey.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick White officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery.
