Thelma Mae Dyle

Thelma Mae Dyle, daughter of August VanDamme and the late Lorraine Sherriff VanDamme, was born on Jan. 28, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., and died at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Dec. 9, 2012, at the age of 67.

Mrs. Dyle was affiliated with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Dexter. She was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, Ben Dyle, and his wife Rosetta, of Dudley and Thomas Dyle, and his wife April, of Dexter; one daughter, Becky Hovis, and her husband, Jimmy Hovis, Sr., of Cascade, Mo.; two sisters, Irma VanDamme and Sharon Dyle, both of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Ethan Dyle, Benjamin Dyle II, and Alex Dyle; and one step-grandchild, Xavier Hovis. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emil VanDamme and August VanDamme, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted in Parlor A of the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with Father David Dohogne officiating. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
