James Richard Algood, son of the late James Harrison Algood and Altheline Harper Algood, was born on Sept.19,1956, in Paducah, Ky., and died at his residence in Dexter, Mo., on Dec.13, 2012, at the age of 56.
Mr. Algood was a resident of Dexter and a member of the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden. He was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, and was a foreman at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid.
He was united in marriage to Debra Joy Tracer on June 30, 2001, in Malden. Debra preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 2010.
He is survived by a son, Jeremy Algood, of Bernie; a stepson, David T. Miller, of Cape Girardeau, a stepdaughter, Cara M. Dillinger, of Bernie, and two step-grandchildren, Nate and Alexa Dillinger.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alan Dale Algood and by one sister, Margaret Algood.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec.17, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Dan Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Palma, Ky.
