Lady Bearcats one of eight area teams state-ranked

Dexter's Lady Bearcats are one of eight semoball.com teams ranked in the top 10 in their respective class in the latest state basketball rankings provided by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

The Lady Bearcats are ranked No. 8 in Class 4. The team supports a 10-1 record that includes tournament titles at the McDonald's Shootout in Paragould, Ark., and at last weeks Twin Rivers Lady Royals Christmas Classic. Dexter's lone loss came in the championship game of the season-opening Farmington Invitational to Miller Career Academy, currently ranked No. 7 in Class 4.

The undefeated Leopold boys are ranked No. 8 in Class 1. The defending state champion Scott County Central boys are ranked No. 10 in Class 1.

The unbeaten Bernie boys are ranked No. 3 in Class 2. The Advance boys are ranked No. 9 in Class 2.

The defending state champion Charleston boys are ranked No. 3 in Class 3. The undefeated Sikeston boys are ranked No. 1 in Class 4.

The Saxony Lutheran girls, which won the Kelso Holiday Classic at the Show Me Center last week are ranked No. 9 in Class 3.

No teams from Dunklin County or Pemiscot County are state ranked. The Caruthersville boys, Hayti boys and South Pemiscot boys received votes in the state rankings.
