Hammer-Shipman engaged

Jeff and Carol Gillam of Cave Creek, Ariz., and the late Ken Hammer and Ronnie and Vickie Shipman of Malden, Mo., are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Alicia Hammer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Brandon Shipman originally from Bernie, Mo., now residing in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Brandon is the grandson of Lucille Shipman of Bernie, Mo.

After graduating from Bernie High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BS in exercise physiology and a minor in business, Brandon is a mortgage banker for Quicken Loans, Inc.

Alicia graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters of Social Work and is now the development specialist for a non-profit homeless shelter in Scottsdale, called Family Promise. Brandon and Alicia met while both were attending the University of Missouri-Columbia where Brandon played football and Alicia was on the Golden Girls dance team.

An April 6, 2013, wedding is being planned at the Blackstone Country Club in Peoria, Ariz.
