Local residents have witnessed an unusual influx of snow geese in recent days. Conservation Agent Mark Reed says waterfowl surveys show that about two million snow geese have been in the region in January, settling for a time between extreme cold to the north and warm temperatures to the south. The flock above, estimated to be in the thousands, was feeding on a rice field just east of the Grayridge turnoff on Highway 60 Sunday afternoon.
