Rachel A. Childers, daughter of the late Leon McCoy and Mildred Marie Purcell McCoy, was born on Feb. 1, 1953, in Dexter and died on Jan. 23, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 59.

Mrs. Childers was a homemaker and a former employee of both Tyson Foods, Inc. and Elder Manufacturing of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Lawson Childers on July 16, 1991, at Bloomfield. Mr. Childers survives of the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, William Lawson McCoy, and his wife Paula of Dexter; by one stepson, Virgil A. Childers of Portageville; by one stepdaughter, Beverly JoAnn Allen of Malden; by three brothers, Gary McCoy, Rodger McCoy, and Danny McCoy, all of Dexter; by two sisters, Carolyn Snider of Dexter and Kandy Koechner of Advance; by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy McCoy, Dennis McCoy, and Darrell McCoy.

Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funer-al Chapel with Rev. James Malloy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
