James Williams

James T. Williams, son of the late Clarence Williams and Annie Woodard Williams, was born on Jan. 13, 1913, at Dexter and died in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston on April 8, 2003, at the age of 90. Mr. Williams was a former plumbing and heating contractor in Dexter, a former alderman for the Dexter City Council and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Isabelle Harget on March 27, 1932, at Dexter. Mrs. Williams preceded him in death on April 19, 1993. Survivors include one son, James T. Williams, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Marie Phillips of Hudson, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral service will then be conducted at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
