Debra Hackmann

Debra Mouser Hackmann, 48, of Fulton, died Monday, December 23, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born December 20, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Loretta Mouser. She married Bruce Hackmann on May 24, 1980, in Fulton. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her parents; two daughters, Lindsay and Meredith Hackmann of Fulton; one brother, Bob Mouser of Harrison, Ark.; one sister, Terra Mouser of Creve Coeur, Mo. She was preceded in death by one infant brother, Michael. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education in 1976 from William Woods College in Fulton where she was honored as the Outstanding Graduate in the Class of 1976. She received her Masters Degree in higher and adult education in 1995 from the University of Missouri -- Columbia. She worked for Proctor and Gamble Co., in Champaign, Ill., and later at William Woods University. For 22 years at William Woods, she held positions of Director of Alumnae Affairs, Dean of Students, and Vice President for Student Services. She was honored in 1985 with the Order of the Green Owl from the William Woods National Alumnae Association; she received the 1999 Outstanding Service Award from WWU Alumni Association; and she received the 2000 Alumna Service Award from the Fulton Board of Associates. She was a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Association for Student Judicial Affairs, and the American college Personnel Association. She was involved in numerous volunteer organizations, including the Fulton School District Strategic Planning Action Team and the Committee for Excellence in Education. She also served as the Callaway County United Way Board fund drive chairperson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, where she was a trustee, a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Mabel Murphy WMU group. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Fulton with the Rev. Stephen Sowder officiating. Burial will follow in the Callaway Memorial Gardens cemetery in Fulton. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 26, 2002, at the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home of Fulton. Memorials are suggested to the Family Life Center Building Fund at the Fulton First Baptist Church or the Debra Mouser Hackmann Endowment Scholarship Fund at William Woods University. PAID
