Dickie Joe Keene, son of the late Lloyd Keene and Mary D. Gunter, was born on Tuesday, July 20, 1948, at Benton and died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at his residence in Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Puxico High School in 1966 and had attended the Southeast Missouri State University. He had been manager of Cape Tractor Trailer Supply for 22 years. Mr. Keene was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was a 25-year member of the Elks Lodge #639 in Cape Girardeau and a 25-year member of the Masonic Lodge #590 of Advance. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister. On Sept. 2, 1978, he was married to Debbie K. Seabaugh at Jackson, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Mary D. Keene McFarland, of Marble Hill; one son, Lance Corporal John Wesley Keene of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; and two brothers, Lloyd David Keene and Kevin D. Keene, both of Advance. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002., and an Elks service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002. Following the Elks service, a Masonic service will be held. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson with Msgr. Ed Eftink officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
