Herman Hoover McRoy, son of the late Alex and Oma Mae Boman McRoy, was born at Aid on July 7, 1929, and died at his home in Overland on Sept. 16, 2002, at the age of 73. Mr. McRoy had spent most of his life in the St. Louis community and was retired from Cyclone Fence Company. He attended the Breckenridge Assembly of God Church. On Sept. 16, 1977, he was married to Carol Cross, who survives of the home in Overland. Other survivors include two sons, Tom McRoy of St. Louis, and Glen McRoy of Warrenton; five daughters, Joyce Collins of St. Charles, Barbara Hale of Mayfield, Ky., Dee Scarborough of Moscow Mills, Misty Scarborough of Leadwood, and Tammy Ellsworth of Overland; two brothers, Bill McRoy of Bloomfield, and Bob McRoy of Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Gilbee of Overland, Ida Robinson of Iowa, and Katherine Lay of Bloomfield; thirteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
