Carmeline England of Marble Hill was born in Gray Ridge, Mo., on Nov. 1, 1925, the daughter of John Edward and Alta M. Tayler Pratt. She died Monday, April 29, 2002, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 76. She married Albert F. England in 1941 and he preceded her in death in June of 1971. Mrs. England worked as an assembly worker at General Electric in Ontario, Calif., had sold insurance as an independent agent in Bloomfield, Mo., and had been a sales representative for five years with Southwestern Bell Telephone. She moved from Bloomfield to Marble Hill 13 years ago. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Family Worship Center in Marble Hill. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three children, Rev. Gary Franklin England of St. Louis, Sandra Jean Holmes of Charleston, Ill., and Beverly Clanin of Marble Hill; one sister, Laverne Lovett of Dexter; one brother, James E. Pratt of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, May 1, 2002, from 4-8 p.m. in the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home, Cape Girardeau. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, in the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Whitehouse and Robert Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park, Cape Girardeau. Memorials may be made to the 700 Club.
