Alma Barker Rose, daughter of the late Charles Henry Barker and Mary Jane Pittman Barker, was born on March 13, 1909 at Hahn, Mo. and died in the Sunbridge Care Center at Marion, Ohio on April 9, 2002, at the age of 93. Mrs. Rose was a charter member of the Missionary Holiness Church of Marion, Ohio. She was a former machine operator for Fulfillment Corp. of Marion, Ohio and a resident of Marion, Ohio and formerly of Dexter. She was first united in marriage to Clyde M. Sitton on Feb. 11, 1928 and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1932. She then married Olivene Rose on July 22, 1933 at Dexter. Mr. Rose preceded her in death on July 31, 1977. Survivors include one son, Donald Rose of Marion, Ohio; three daughters, Doris Sitton Caudle of Dexter, Frances Pinney of Marion, Ohio, and Linda Magill of Delaware, Ohio; three brothers, Marion Barker of Warren, Mich., Clarence Barker of Farmington and Warren Barker of Houston, Texas; one sister, Hazel Kibler of Berkley, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Elvin Dean Rose; by one granddaughter, Cheryl Caudle Daniel; by three brothers, Homer Barker, Elmer Barker and Everett Barker; by three sisters, Agnes Hazlip, Grace Williams and Ethel Wilson. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, April 13. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Chapel with Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
