Robert Gaede

Robert A. Gaede, son of the late August A. Gaede and Marian Vanauken Gaede, was born on March 24, 1925 at Sumner, Iowa and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on April 29, 2003, at the age of 78. Mr. Gaede was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter, a retired shipping foreman for Purolator Products in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, a member of the American Legion and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Willa Mae Cloud on June 17, 1956 at Dexter, and she survives the home in Dexter. Other survivors include two sons, David Robert Gaede of Springfield and Daniel Alan Gaede of Olathe, Kan,; by two brothers, Dan Gaede of Sandstone, Minn., and Ralph Gaede of Marion, Iowa.; and by four grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Gaede. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2003 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Adam Mueller and Rev. Wayne Koenig officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter. With Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
