Melvin Cureton

Charles "Melvin" Cureton, 69, of Bell City, was born Dec. 12, 1933, at Bessville, the son of the late Charlie and Dessie Skaggs Cureton, and died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Mr. Cureton had been a farmer. On June 22, 1968, he and Wanda Hamm were united in marriage at Holcomb, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Charlie Cureton of Bell City; a daughter, Regina Cureton of Bell City; four brothers, Ernest Cureton of Dexter, Buck Cureton of Sikeston, Curtis Cureton and Milford Cureton, both of Vanduser; three sisters, Berdean Wilkerson and Katherine Hamilton, both of Blodgett, and Paulette Bell of Bell City; and two grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death. Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Bro. Don Jolliff officiating. Interment followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
