Russell Clark

Russell C. Clark, the son of the late Arch and Mary VanSyoc Clark, was born in Puxico on June 4, 1932 and died at the Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Ill. on March 8, 2002, at the age of 69. Mr. Clark was a former resident of the Puxico area before moving to Shipman, Ill. He was a truck driver for Amoco Oil Company before retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Honda Motorcycle Club, The Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, Teamsters Local #525 and the Lewis Clark Radio Club in Godfrey, Ill. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. On Nov. 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pansy R. McClard in Dexter, she survives of the home in Shipman, Ill. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Valerie Roach of Brighton, Ill. and Vonda Walter of Godfrey, Ill.; by five grandchildren; and by three brothers, James Clark of Fosterburg, Ill., Jearl Clark and George Clark, both of Puxico. Visitation will be held Monday, March 11 at the Watkins & Son Funeral Home in Puxico from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Buttry of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Woodburn Calvary Baptist Church in Woodburn, Ill.
