William Paul Davis, son of the late Joseph Davis and Lena Jann Davis, was born on March 19, 1912 at Malden and died at his residence in Dexter on Feb. 27, 2002, at the age of 89. Mr. Davis was a farmer, a former bus driver for the Dexter Public School System for 20 years, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Mary F. Howell on March 4, 1933 at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Davis survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William "Bill" Davis of Rolling Fork, Miss.; by three daughters, Elizabeth L. Davis Combs of Urbana, Ill., Peggy S. Davis Stott of Lake St. Louis, and Rita Davis McKain of Dexter; by 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Davis. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 1. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald Beam and Rev. Jerrold Lake officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
