Florence Melissalee Taylor, daughter of the late Monroe Gammons and Lillie May Haymes Gammons, was born at Hickman, Ky. on Aug. 2, 1911 and died in the Integrated Health Systems at Big-Valley Park, Mo. on Nov. 12, 2001, at the age of 90. She was united in marriage to Charlie C. Taylor at New Madrid on Oct. 27, 1925. To this union four sons were born. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on April 2, 1991. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal Faith. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis Edward Gammons, Huston Carol Gammons and Albert Gammons; and by five sisters, Clara Mae Gammons, May Cleavlin, Katie Lou Doty, Thelma Dee Gammons and Dorothy Agnes Gammons. She is survived by four sons, Charles H. Taylor of Branson, LeeRoy Taylor of Kirkwood, James H. Taylor of St. Charles and Louis F. Taylor of Lufkin, Texas; by 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie on Thursday morning, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Maxwell Lewis officiating. Interment followed in the Elder Cemetery Rural Route Campbell with Rainey Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of all arrangements.
