Robert Hood

Robert H. Hood of Cape Girardeau, son of the late Henry and Daisy Skaggs Hood, was born on April 11, 1921 at Gipsy and died on Oct. 19, 2001, at the St. Louis Veterans Hospital at the age of 80. Mr. Hood was a retired head sawyer for many different mills throughout his life. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Glenda Randolph on Jan. 17, 1960 at Zalma, she preceded him in death on July 3, 1997. Survivors include two step-sons, Marion Thomas Conder of Clubb and Trennis Lee Conder of Gipsy; by one step-daughter, Evelyn Marie Conder of Cape Girardeau; by one brother, Glen Hood of Gipsy; by one sister, Moneda Cook of Fredericktown; and by one step-grandson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one step-son. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel on Monday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Porter officiating. Interment followed in the Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy. Morgan Funeral Home of Advance was in charge of all arrangements.
