Magrite M. Darby, daughter of the late Perry Lee Moore and Edna Young Moore, was born on Dec. 29, 1929 in Bloomfield and died at her residence in Dexter on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001 at the age of 71. Mrs. Darby was a member of the New Bethal General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former employee of the International Hat Factory, and a resident of Dexter for many years. She was united in marriage to James L. Darby in Bloomfield on Jan. 31, 1947, he survives of the home in Dexter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Moore. She is also survived by one son, Rev. Jerry Darby of Malden; by one daughter, Paula McClure of Columbia; by three brothers, Roy Bob, Leoid, and M.C. Moore, all of Dexter; by one sister, Velma Pierce of Bloomfield; and by four grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Darby officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
