Ola Hopkins Ola M. Hopkins, daughter of the late George W. Vanpool and Belle Gramlin Hall Vanpool, was born on Oct. 16, 1908 at Paragould, Ark. and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Sept. 27, 2001, at the age of 92. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former employee of Elder Manufacturing Company in Bloomfield and a resident of Dexter. She was first united in marriage to Grant Singleton on Nov. 2, 1940 at Farmington, he preceded her in death on April 12, 1967. She then married George Hopkins on Aug. 12, 1967 at Dexter. Mr. Hopkins preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1984. She is survived by two step-daughters, Beulah Harmon of Bolivar and Beatrice Busby of St. James; by one step-sister, Pauline Burke of Fremont; eight step-grandchildren; and several step-great-granchildren. Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son, William Hopkins; by one half-brother, George Vanpool; and by two sisters, Nona Hisaw and Estel Selster. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the Rainey Funeral Chapel at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
