June Kelley, the daughter of the late Thurma and Irene Edwards Kitchen, was born in Puxico on Dec. 28, 1929, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at the age of 73. Mrs. Kelley had lived in St. Louis for 35 years and had lived in Puxico the remainder of her life. She had worked as a restaurant manager for Uncle Bill's Pancake House in St. Louis and had been a cashier at Bill's Market for 14 years. She attended the First Christian Church in Puxico and was a member of the Puxico V.F.W. Post 7822 Auxiliary. On Aug. 30, 1947, she was married to Russell Kelley in St. Louis. Surviving are her husband, Russell Kelley of Puxico; one son, Russell Kelley, Jr., of St. Louis; one daughter, Deborah Henson of St. Louis; two foster sons, Leonard Kelley, III, and Karl Kelley, both of St. Louis; one foster daughter, Monica Stevens of Virginia; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Martin of Wentzville; and one sister, Thelma Campbell of Puxico. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
