Willard Rainey

Willard "Bill" Rainey, 79, of Advance, was born Aug. 21, 1923, at Advance, the son of the late Charles and Lula Raver Rainey, and died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter. He was a heavy equipment operator for Little River Drainage for 40 years until retirement. He was one of Jehovah Witnesses of Advance congregation. He and Helen Croy were united in marriage on Aug. 24, 1945, at Piggott, Ark., and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Tom Rainey of Marquand and Tim Rainey of Advance; one daughter, Nelda Simpson of Advance; one brother, Lowell Rainey of Athens, Ga.; one sister, Francis Sobba of Auxvasse; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Friday, April 4, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Allan Laszewski officiating. Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
