Bill Hardesty, the son of the late Harry and Mary F. Farmer Hardesty, was born in Charleston on July 18, 1926, and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at the age of 76. Mr. Hardesty had lived in the Parma area all his life. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Malden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. On April 6, 1947, he was married to Betty Meier in Sikeston. Surviving are his wife, Betty Hardesty of Parma; two sons, Terry and Larry Hardesty, both of Parma; two daughters, Mary Frances Hardesty and Barbara Brannon, both of Parma; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Walker of Rodgers, Ark., and Helen Clendenin of St. Louis. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with the Rev. William MacGregor of Bertrand officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
