L. Winchester

Linda "Marie" Winchester, 64, of Advance, was born May 4, 1938, at Cumberlin City, Tenn., the daughter of Bertie Lee Pulley Smith and the late Robert W. Smith, and died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Winchester was a retired LPN and homemaker. She was a member of the Dongola Friendship Baptist Church. In December of 1962, she and Jerry Edward Winchester were united in marriage at St. Louis, and he survives of the home. Other survivors include her mother, Bertie Lee Smith of Advance; one son, George Smith of Granite City, Ill.; four daughters, Shelia Moro of Cumberlin City, Tenn., Linda Tomlinson and Lori Ann Maddox, both of Advance, and Lisa Ann Canter of Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Betty Lou Baker of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A brother, sister and her father preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Dongola Friendship Baptist Church in Dongola with Rev. Dan Overton officiating and Rev. J. Scott Price assisting. Interment will follow in Dongola Cemetery.
