Gary Tennyson, the son of William Tennyson and Jayan Van Bergen, was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., on April 14, 1964, and died at the Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff on Oct. 15, 2002, at the age of 38. Mr. Tennyson had lived in California for several years and had lived in Puxico the past nine years. He was employed at the Stoddard County Sheltered Workshop in Dexter. Surviving are his parents Jayan Van Bergen of St. Louis and William Tennyson of Petaluma, Calif.; grandparents, Jay and Helen Hobbs of Puxico; one sister, Teresa Bird of Rohnert Park, Calif.; one brother, Robert Tennyson of Pioneer, Calif.; three step-brothers, Mark, Bobby, and Scott Dietlin, all of California. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in the Hobbs Chapel Church near Puxico with the Rev. Kim Proffer of Poplar Bluff officiating and the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico assisting. Interment will follow in the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
