Dorothy Link, the daughter of the late Walter A. and Armitte Wren Shrum, was born near Aid on Oct. 26, 1925, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Sept. 11, 2002, at the age of 76. Mrs. Link had been a resident of Stoddard County all her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. On July 3, 1943, she was married to Calvin C. Link. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1981. Surviving are five daughters: Virginia Bradley of Charleston, Virgie Geeding and Marilyn Schulte, both of Troy, Beverly Mangrum and Lesa Link, both of Bloomfield; three sons, James Link of Troy, Joe Link of Bloomfield, and Johnny Link of Silex; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Wampler of Moline, Ill. She was preceded in death by three children, one in infancy, Marsha Henson and Patsy Creech. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Bill Bradley of Charleston and Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
