William H. ?Willie? Lemons, 90, of Gipsy, was born Dec. 11, 1911, at Gipsy, the son of the late Harvey and Carrie Skinner Lemons, and died Aug. 16, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Lemons was a custodian and school bus driver for Zalma schools for over 20 years. He attended Berrong General Baptist Church in Gipsy. On Jan. 14, 1936, Mr. Lemons and Ethel Porter were united in marriage at Gipsy, and she survives of the home. Other survivors include seven sons, Truman Lemons of Cape Girardeau, Charles Lemons of Marble Hill, Ivan Lemons, Harold Lemons, and Tommy Lemons, all of Zalma, Dean Lemons of Gipsy, and Terry Lemons of Scott City; six daughters, Dorothy Richmond of Bridgeton, Mo., Shirley Chestnut of Jacksonville, Fla.; Ruth Hefner of McGee, Linda Seiler of Puxico, Peggy Stepp of Arab, and Barbara Masters of Virginia Beach, Va.; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. An infant son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. LeeRoy Hefner officiating. Rev. Eldo Eaker and Rev. Bob Porter will assist. Interment will follow at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy.
