Kenneth C. Miller, son of Denzil B. and Etta M. Garner Miller, was born on September 11, 1938, at Greenbrier, Mo., and died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 63. Mr. Miller graduated from Advance High School. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1961 through 1963 and in the Army Reserve through 1967. He had worked at Rhodes Oil Company, R.B. Potashnick Construction, and 25 years at Co-op Service Center in Jackson retiring in 1999. He then drove a van for the Lutheran Home. On June 23, 1973, he and Kathryn D. Deneke were married at Gordonville. Mr. Miller was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, its Methodist Men?s Club, and had served on various committees. Survivors include his wife, his son Kirk C. Miller, his daughter Kristin Miller, all of Jackson; two brothers, Vernon Miller of Jackson and Hershel Miller of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Frieda Bitterman of Advance. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Freeman Miller. Visitation was held Sunday, July 28, 2002, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services were held Monday, July 29, 2002, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville, followed by interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Ann Mowery officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Zion United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, the Lutheran Home, or the American Heart Association.
