James Rodney ?Rod? BeCraft, 50, of Wappapello, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002 in Wayne County as the result of an automobile accident. Mr. BeCraft, the son of the late Ralph and Juanita (Parker) BeCraft, was born May 29, 1952 in Bloomfield. He was an auto worker with the Ford Motor Company in St. Louis and enjoyed traveling, fishing and baseball. On Aug. 18, 1972, he married Rita La Verne Walker in St. Charles. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Tina Doerr, of St. Peters, and Donald J. BeCraft, of Moscow Mills; nine grandchildren, Zachary Clubb, Whitney Clubb, Ashley Doerr, Britany Doerr, Ashley BeCraft, Jordan BeCraft, Haylea BeCraft, Noah BeCraft and Sydney BeCraft; two brothers, Ralph Byron BeCraft of Bethalto, Ill., and Larry BeCraft of Pacific; six sisters, Glora Jean McRoy, Patricia Smith and Mary June Beyer, all of Bloomfield, Martha Espey of Brentwood and Marilyn Gilliam and Sheila Sandage, both of Dexter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald R. BeCraft and Ronald D. BeCraft; and one sister, Jeanette BeCraft. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Wappapello Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Swenson officiating. Burial will be in the Little Brushy Cemetery.
