Raymond Eugene McClain, son of the late Foster McClain and Lillie McGowen McClain was born on January 23, 1930 at Tyronza, Ark. and died at his residence in rural Bernie, on June 24, 2002 at the age of 72. Mr. McClain served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he was a repairman at General Motors in St. Louis, until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion at Qulin, and enjoyed gardening. He was united in marriage to Ruby Rines of rural Bernie, on May 24, 1957 at St. Louis, she survives of the home along with, one son, Randy Nickenson of Muskegon, Mich.; by three daughters, Janice Craft of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Barbara Winkle of the State of Wyoming and Karen McClain of Redding, Calif.; by one brother, Allen McClain of Fisk; by two sisters, Marie Nance of Pocahontas, Ill. and Lois Gilliam of Evansville, Indiana; by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 25, from 5-8 p.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Morgan officiating Interment will follow in the Brown Chapel Cemtery at Broseley, with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
