Buster Bill York

Buster York, son of the late George M. York and Clora N. Jiles York, was born on Dec. 12, 1910 near Dudley and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on May 28, 2002, at the age of 91. Mr. York, was a repairman at General Motors in Pontiac, Mich., a member of the Dudley Church of God, and a resident of Dexter. On Dec. 24, 1935 he was united in marriage to Julia Aline Wooley at Dexter, she survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Dinah King of Schwartz Creek, Mich.; by two sisters, Sarah Poole of St. Louis and Georgia Graves of Dexter; by seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents., Mr. York was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Wayne York; by two brothers, Lester F. York and Charles York; by four sisters, Alma Eagle, Emma Emerling, Louella Kosolow, and Mabel Ballentine. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Friday, May 31 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Funeral services will then follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Metcalf officiating. Interment will follow at the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of arrangements.
