Harry Kleinert

Harry Lee Dickerson Kleinert, the son of the late Dickerson Norvin Jerome Weber, was born April 15, 1927 in Dexter and died March 23, 2002 at a local care center following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, at the age of 74. He had lived with his grandparents, Richard Lee and Emma Sprinkles Dickerson. He was legally adopted by his mother's second husband George Kleinert in Detroit, Mich. Harry was first united in marriage to Barbara Holcomb. Later he married Maryan Baker on April 12, 1957 in Los Angeles, Calif. On April 15, 1978, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lessley in Salt Lake City. Harry Lee served as a Military Police Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II with Company B, 397 Military Police Battalion. In 1959, he accepted a job with Hercules and relocated to Salt Lake City and retired from there on March 31, 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman, bicycle racer, golfer, an excellent tennis player and audio buff. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Kleinert; two daughters, Tamson Kleinert Trelstad of Minneapolis, Minn. and Stephanie Y. Kleinert Borders of Park City, Utah; and five grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one half-sister, Dolores Jean of Portland, Oregon. Visitation was held at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m. Funeral services were then conducted at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steven A. Interment with full military honors followed.
