Forrest F. Johnson, better known to his friends as either Radio or Magic, was born on Sept. 25, 1916 at Elvins, Mo. and departed this life in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Feb. 26, 2002, at the age of 85. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a retired Pipefitter of Local #562 in St. Louis, a veteran of the United States Army for four years, seven months and 27 days serving with the 6th Division, 20th Infantry Company K, was a member of American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston, a member of the Ionic Lodge #154 of Desloge, Mo., Royal Arch Lodge #129, Council 43 Commandery Lodge #56 Knights Temple of Bonne Terre, and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Novella Reed on April 26, 1978 at Dayton Beach, Fla. Mrs. Johnson survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donald Johnson and wife, Julie, of Salem, Mo. and Terry Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; by one daughter, Lynda Priest and husband, Bill, of Park Hills, Mo.; by one step-daughter, Anita Underwood and husband, Byron, of Rector, Ark.,; by two brothers, Raymond Johnson of Farmington and John Johnson of Park Hills, Mo.; by one sister, Glenda Grisham of Bismarck, Mo.; by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jasper Johnson and Aaron Johnson. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2002 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Poplar Bluff with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements. PAID
