Bob Gramling

Bob Gramling, son of the late Estes and Cordie Mays Gramling, was born in Walcott, Ark., on Oct. 17, 1933, and died at his home at Wappapello on Friday, Dec. 21, at the age of 68. Mr. Gramling was a former resident of St. Louis before moving to Wappapello in 1986. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years. He owned and operated Direct Advertising Publications in Wappapello. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Shook and was a third degree Mason and member of the Eastern Star. On April 30, 1983, he married Barbara Dover in St. Louis County. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Gramling of Wappapello; two sons, Phillip Gramling of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Gramling of Kennett; one daughter, Debra Pierce of Kennett; two stepsons, Richard Wadlow and Marty Fancher, both of St. Louis; one stepdaughter, Tammy Kutscher of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Stan Gramling of Jonesboro, Ark., Eugene and Malcolm Gramling, both of Kennett; three sisters, Maxine Ward of Aurora, Aledene Tinkle of Kennett, and Madonna Stewart of Walcott, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Gramling. Visitation was held beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with Rev. Lee Roy Hefner of McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
