Paul Hoxworth

Paul E. Hoxworth of Gravel Hill, the son of the late John and Ella Hester Hoxworth, was born Feb. 19, 1915 and died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001 at his home, at the age of 86. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Grampp on Nov. 19, 1932. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 1995. Mr. Hoxworth served in the United States Army from 1944 - 1945 as a private first class. He had lived and farmed in the Gravel Hill Community since 1953, was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513, and had worked for Delta Asphalt, Rock Hill Asphalt and Penzel Construction, retiring in 1977. He is survived by three sons, Leo Hoxworth of Conway, Ark., Jerry Hoxworth of Marble Hill, and Kenny Hoxworth of Millersville; by three daugthers, Shirley Barks and Jo Ann Knoll, both of Marble Hill and Judy Bryant of Carson City, Nev.; by 15 grandchildren; and by 20 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and eight sisters. Funeral services will be announced later by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, to be held at the County Line Baptist Cemetery at County Line Baptist Church.
