Alice McQueen, the daughter of the late Marion and Gladys Birmingham Brady, was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark. on Feb. 20, 1931 and died at her home near Bloomfield on Nov. 5, 2001, at the age of 70. Mrs. McQueen had lived in Tenn. and Ark. before moving to Bloomfield 35 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Yarbro, Ark. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the D.A.V., the Sheriff's Association and the N.R.A. She was united in marriage on June 7, 1961 to Ray McQueen in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1983. Surviving are two sons, Alan McQueen and John R. McQueen, both of Bloomfield; one daughter, Linda Ottinger of Smyrna, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Brady of Bloomfield and Utah Brady of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Winnona McGuire of Gulfport, Miss. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Tim Alan McQueen on May 17, 1983; by one granddaughter, Tanya Ottinger in 1991; by two brothers, Melton T. and Rudolf Brady; and by one sister, Launa Rambo. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Melvin Gainer of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
