James Dallas Teel, the son of the late Wesley E. and Arcadia Alice Crow Teel, was born in Randles, Mo. on July 18, 1932 and died at the Stroud Regional Medical Center in Stroud, Okla. on Oct. 5, 2001, at the age of 69. Mr. Teel had lived in Parma, spent time in Fla. and Texas before moving to Okla.. in 1977, and was a resident of Chandler, Okla. at the time of his death. He was a retired farm manager with E.B. Gee Farms and Cotton Gin in Parma, had worked at the Mahan Cotton Gin and was a veteran of the United States Army. On April 3, 1959, he was united in marriage to Sherrill Nussbaum in Hornersville, Mo., she survives of the home in Chandler. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, James D. Teel II of Edmond, Okla.; by one daughter, Arcadia 'Katie' Sloan of Broken Arrow, Okla.; by two grandchildren; by three sisters, Jessie Kovaleski and Emma Nell Posk, both of Marysville, Calif. and Virginia Teel of Minneapolis, Kan.; and by one brother, Ottis Teel of Canon City, Colo. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, Oct. 10 after 9 a.m. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie with Rev. Robert Martin of Memphis, Tenn. officiating. Internment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
