Paul D. Watkins

Paul David Watkins, son of Goldie Watkins DePriest of Dexter and the late George Watkins, was born on Dec. 5, 1957 at Dexter and died in Cape Girardeau County on Sept. 19, 2001, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Paul David was a construction worker and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Karen McClard on Sept. 12, 1998 at Dexter, she survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Goldie and Bill DePriest of Dexter; two brothers, George Watkins, Jr. of Bloomfield and Larry Roe Watkins of Dexter; two step-brothers, Ronnie DePriest of Derby, Kansas and Darrel DePriest of Fulton; and one step-sister, Vivien Burnsed of Fla. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gene Watkins. Visitation was held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Sept. 21 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerrold Lake officiating. Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
