John C. "Muck" James of Delta, was born on March 15, 1926 at Hurricane Fork, Mo., the son of the late Henry and Annie Francis James, and died on Sept. 17, 2001 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 75. John was a mechanic for McDonald Concrete in Cape Girardeau, was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was united in marriage to Nellie Mae Wilfong at Piggott, Ark. on July 16, 1949, she survives of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Mary Schott of Perkins, Janet DeBrock of Leopold and Linda James of Morley; two brothers, Charles James of Chaffee and Hadley James of Arbor; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jessie Long officiating. Internment will follow in the Dongola Cemetery with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of all arrangements.
