Jessie Edmond, Sr., son of the late Chester Edmond and Ella Williams Edmond, was born at Coffinville, Miss. on Aug. 10, 1910 and died in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston on Sept. 5, 2001, at the age of 91. He was united in marriage to the former Joella Rutledge at Grenada County, Miss. on Nov. 11, 1950. She preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2001. Mr. Edmond was a farmer and was a member of the Mount Calvary Church at Parma. He is survived by one son, Jessie Edmond, Jr. of Diehlstadt; and by one sister, Lillie Logan of Chicago, Ill. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; by one brother, Nolan Edmond; by two sisters, Pearlie Logan and Christine Logan. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11a.m.-12 noon. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 12 noon with Rev. Johnny Williams of Poplar Bluff officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden. Rainey Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of arrangements.
