Beulah Putnam, daughter of the late William M. Adkins and Molly Stevenson Adkins, was born on May 7, 1909, at St. John, Kan., and departed this life in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the age of 94. Mrs. Putnam was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a homemaker, farmer, member of the Golden Age Quilters, and a 50-year member of the Missouri Extension Homemakers Association. She was united in marriage to George E. Putnam on Feb. 7, 1930, at Poplar Bluff. Mr. Putnam preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1989. Survivors include one daughter, Betty and husband H.M. Richmond of Bloomfield; one granddaughter, Janet and husband Steve Bell of Dexter; one grandson, Jimmy and wife Laura Putnam of Dexter; three step-grandchildren, Donna and husband Gary Deardorff of Bloomfield, Rebecca and husband Ronald Gisi of Bloomfield and Rich Richmond of Bloomfield; three great-grandchildren, Kristina Bell, Julia Bell and J.T. Putnam. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James D. Putnam; four brothers, Curry Adkins, Rolland E. Adkins, Cecil Adkins and Lois Adkins; four sisters, Lillie Peters, Marjorie Aarant, Zelle Bell Adkins and Pauline Adkins. Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 3-6 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003. Funeral services will then be conducted at 6 p.m. with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating. Graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. PAID
